As mentioned in a previous post, Axis Group took first place in the Qlik’s latest hackathon at Qonnections 2017. The hackathon was a partnership with the UN to look at data from the ACLED about armed conflicts in and around the Democratic Republic of Congo. The teams had 2 weeks to put together an application for exploring this data with visualizations to find insights in the data.
I’m excited to finally share this project online. It’s far from perfect due to the quick, hacky nature of the contest, but I am proud to display the work that our team of designers, developers, and data scientists were able to do in such a short period of time on an important and sobering dataset.
